Path Four

You have a university degree from a non-recognized university, or you don’t have a university degree

Step 5:  CMA Entrance Examination

Once you have completed the prerequisite studies topics (and a university degree if you are not eligible under the mature student policy), the next step to becoming a CMA is to write the CMA Entrance Examination. This exam tests your knowledge of the CMA prerequisite studies topics. The exam is held twice a year—in mid-June and mid-October—and consists of multiple-choice questions on all prerequisite studies topics. To help you prepare for the exam, CMA Ontario offers a comprehensive preparation program and study guide. You need to achieve a grade of 60% or better on the exam to be eligible for the CMA Strategic Leadership Program.

The CMA Entrance Examination must be written in Ontario. The exam preparation program is offered only in Ontario; the study guide is available online.
