Path Two
You have a university degree, and you are a current member of:
- the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
- the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP)
- the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA)
CMA Ontario has a professional advanced standing (PAS) policy for members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). To be eligible for advanced standing under this policy, you must:
- have a degree from a recognized university
- have qualified as a professional accountant by completing the entire AICPA, ICMAP or ACCA program. If you are an ACCA, you must also have completed Advanced Performance Management as one of your options.
- be a member in good standing of AICPA, ICMAP or ACCA with no outstanding disciplinary charges or outstanding complaints that are currently being investigated
- not have previously attempted and failed a CMA Canada qualifying examination
- declare any previous criminal convictions and/or any previous disciplinary actions against you
- be currently employed in a qualifying management accounting position in Canada
If this describes you, you are eligible to apply for exemption from the CMA prerequisite studies requirement and the CMA Entrance Examination.
