Support for Newcomers from CMA Ontario
More than one in five new CMAs are Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs). To help newcomers become successful in their career, CMA Ontario offers employment support and mentorship programs through the CMA Centre for Internationally Educated Professionals in Business.
Located at 70 University Avenue in downtown Toronto, the Centre offers:
- A unique Mentorship Program – IEPs will be connected with two mentors: one Canadian educated CMA to provide the perspective of the Canadian experience, and one CMA who was educated internationally, to help share the experience of coming to Canada and finding success.
- Internship Employment Assistance - CMA Ontario is seeking employment opportunities from CMAs and their employers and providing access to those positions though the Centre for IEPs.
- Speaking engagements with accomplished IEPs - Lunch time and evening events showcase successful CMAs as well as provide speakers on topics ranging from the inner workings of Toronto’s financial community to business etiquette.
- Occupational specific English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons and cultural diversity training
- Resources from other newcomer welcome centres and settlement agencies
