General Admission Requirements
To register with CGA Ontario and begin the qualification process to become a CGA, you must meet the following general admission requirements:
- be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant or hold a valid study visa
- be a resident of Ontario (you can have your academic credentials evaluated before you come to Ontario by submitting an application for transfer credits; however, you need to be resident in Ontario in order to enrol in CGA courses)
- have good communication skills in English (you need to be able to use appropriate vocabulary and correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written work)
- be bondable (not have been found guilty of any criminal offences)
You do not need a university degree to begin the qualification process to become a CGA. CGA Ontario welcomes applicants with a variety of educational backgrounds, including:
- a bachelor or master degree
- a college diploma
- some post-secondary credits
Even if you don't have any post-secondary education, you may be eligible to begin the CGA qualification process as a mature student if you are more than 21 years old, and you have two years of business work experience.
Overseas Partners
The CGA program of professional studies is offered in a limited number of countries overseas. If you live in one of the following areas, you can begin your CGA professional studies before you come to Canada:
- Bermuda
- Caribbean
- China
- Hong Kong
- Mauritius
- Mexico (for graduates of the Tecnologico de Monterrey)
- France (for graduates of INTEC)
