Membership
You can apply for membership in the Institute when you:
- pass the Core Knowledge Examination (CKE)
- attend the School of Accountancy (SOA) and pass the End-of-School Examination
- complete the five-day staff training program
- meet the practical work experience requirement
or are exempted from all or some of the above, and
- pass the Uniform Evaluation (UFE), if you are member of a non-recognized or non-assessed accounting body outside Canada
or
- pass the CA Reciprocity Examination (CARE), if you are a member of a recognized accounting body.
As a member of the Institute, you will have the right to use the CA designation and to call yourself a Chartered Accountant.
